Cornwall Wildlife Trust welcomes new Chief Executive

Cornwall Wildlife Trust welcomes new Chief Executive, Carolyn Cadman, following the retirement of Trevor Edwards after 37 successful years establishing and growing the Trust. Carolyn joins the Trust with a wealth of experience in Cornwall and in national environmental bodies.

Carolyn Cadman says,

“I am delighted to be joining Cornwall Wildlife Trust at a key point when the need to secure a positive future for Cornwall’s natural environment is so high on the public’s agenda. Our special and distinctive living landscapes and living seas need help and protection to be resilient and we want to create bigger, better and more interconnected wildlife-rich areas as part of our contribution to Cornwall’s ambition for environmental growth.”

The Trust helps people to enjoy nature and has supported volunteers to get involved in practical action for over 50 years. Under new leadership, it also seeks to increase awareness of the issues facing Cornwall’s natural environment so that decisions taken now support a positive future for Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places.

Mark Nicholson, Chair of Cornwall Wildlife Trust says,

“Carolyn joins the Trust at a crucial time and brings with her a fresh and vibrant perspective. Together with our partners, members, volunteers, business supporters and the local community, we seek to protect Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places for future generations.”
